I am a big fan of, in particular, the Sonic the Hedgehog CD special stages. I'm a sucker for those mode-7 style pseudo3D planes. This track is directly inspired by the special stage theme from the Japanese soundtrack, along with some other influences picked up along the way.

I actually had the rough idea for this track for YEARS, and only in the last year did I actually think to make it a reality. I do believe it met, if not exceeded, my expectations!
